I’m a big fan of NES and SNES era game music, but modern game music is harder for me to latch on to. Extra Credits did a great video a while back that sums up my feelings extremely well. One modern game series that does do music well is the Halo series. The Truth and Reconcillation Suite from the original Halo is a key track, recontextualizing the halo theme melody along with ambient level audio.
